By now, you have probably heard the buzz about handheld vaporizers and how beneficial they are. Not only are they able to save you a lot of money (Up to 6k per year!), but they are also a more healthy alternative to smoking.

Before you hit the streets or the internet to buy a vaporizer, it’s important that you know what exactly is out there, how they work, and the features that are available so that you can decide which handheld vaporizer is best for you.

The first thing you want to decide is whether you want a tabletop vaporizer or a portable vaporizer. Most people go for the convenience of the portable vaporizer because they can carry it with them and use it in most public places. A tabletop vaporizer is more of a conversational piece to have in your home.

You’ll also want to consider what you will be using your vaporizer for. If you want to use dry leaf herbs (how most tobacco and marijuana is sold), then you want to make sure you purchase a dry herb vape. Before you make that purchase, you’re also going to want to read reviews. Some vaporizers claim to be dry herb friendly, when in fact they are nearly impossible to smoke from.

The other alternative to a dry herb vaporizer is the cheaper concentrated oil vaporizer. For this model, you buy the oils pre made and insert them into your vape. Some people prefer this method as you can buy a variety of scents and flavors. Others prefer the more natural route of using dry herbs. It’s a preference call, really.

Another factor you will want to take into consideration is how much you want to spend. Naturally, the human response is “as little as possible”. While most will agree with that reasoning, you should understand that the cheaper the vaporizer, the more likely you’re going to be missing out on a feature.

Some cheaper vaporizers are larger, and not as portable. So you would be sacrificing convenience.

Other inexpensive vaporizers will be very stylish, but their battery life won’t be long lasting or they won’t have the function to be able to charge in your car. This is one of the most sought out features of portable vaporizers. Especially since most of our time is spent commuting to/from work.

As already mentioned, dry-leaf vaporizers will be more expensive, but when you think about it, they’re more of a long term money saver. With a concentrated oil vaporizer, you have to continuously purchase oils. Dry-herbs themselves will last much longer than oils.

Finally, you want to research the quality of vaporizer. The health benefits of vaping marijuana over smoking are huge. You get less of the toxins into your body, and have a much purer “smoking” experience by using a vaporizer. However, with cheaper models, sometimes you aren’t able to control things like temperature or speed of vaporizing which heavily controls the quality. You want to be sure you have as much control over it as possible to ensure the most quality.

In the end, it’s your decision on what vaporizer to buy. Just be sure to thoroughly read reviews on several websites to make sure what you’re getting is a quality product.
